“Lovely innings, I watched it. Keep it up! This is just the beginning—you have a long way to go. Stay focused and keep performing. All the best!”. Wasim Akram said to Abhishek Sharma after the match in Dubai.
Abhishek to debut for India in ODI
Indian T20 stars Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Verma and T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav were seen in the stands witnessing the iconic India-Pakistan clash. Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly also aspires to handing over the ODI debut soon.
“The way Abhishek Sharma batted in the T20I series (against England) was unbelievable for a left-hander. There is no reason why he can’t play one-day cricket. A player like Abhishek Sharma would be in any cricket team in the world,” said Sourav Ganguly in a recent event at Kolkata.
Abhishek outshines Rohit
During the similar innings, he outshined Indian ODI skipper Rohit Sharma for the most sixes during a match in T20I. He smashed 13 sixes which helped India in a comfortable and marginal victory over England. He breached the 10 sixes record which was jointly held by Rohit Sharma, Sanju Samson and Tilak Verma.
