‘Appropriate Sanctions’, FIFA Delays Decision On Palestine’s Proposal

FIFA said that it would now consider the Palestine Football Association’s (PFA) proposals against the Israel Football Association.

FIFA has once again postponed its decision regarding the Palestinian Football Association’s (PFA) proposal to suspend Israel from international football due to the ongoing conflict in Gaza. Originally scheduled for review in July, FIFA now plans to address the issue at its council meeting in October.

The PFA submitted its proposal in May, prompting FIFA to order an urgent legal evaluation. The governing body initially aimed to share this assessment with its council by August 31. However, FIFA has now pushed back this timeline to October.

‘FIFA has received the independent legal assessment of the Palestine Football Association’s proposals against Israel,’ FIFA said.

‘This assessment will be sent to the FIFA Council to review in order that the subject can be discussed at its next meeting which will take place in October.’
