India’s thumping win came just 24 hours after the Indians had thrashed Malaysia 8-1. But the Indians had been on a winning spree even before this match. In the initial two games, India beat Japan 5-1 and China 3-0. The second-placed South Koreans had a jittery start to the campaign, drawing 5-5 with Japan, then posting a 2-2 draw against Pakistan before posting a 3-2 win over China in their last match.
