The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will soon be releasing the list of central contracts for Team India players and there are several changes expected. Team Indian veteran players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma might have to suffer financial loss with Ravindra Jadeja also in the list. All these three players are included in the Grade A+ but it is likely that they’ll be demoted to Grade A.
Will Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma And Ravindra Jadeja Be Demoted?
Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja retired from T20Is after Indian won the T20 World Cup 2024. According to the rules of BCCI, players who play all the three formats that is ODI, T20 and Tests are placed in grade A+. But since the trio has bid a farewell to the T20I format they are likely to miss out on A+ contract.
How Much Money Will The Trio Lose?
Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja and Rohit Sharma are likely to lose out on INR 2 crore as BCCI pays INR 7 crore for A+ grade contract and INR 5 crore to players who come under A grade contract.

What Happens If Kohli, Rohit And Jadeja Get Demoted?
If Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja get demoted to Grade A due to their retirement from T20I then there are three players who are likely to get promoted in A+ Grade contracts. It is likely to be KL Rahul, Shubman Gill and Mohammed Shami, considering their recent performances over the year.
