The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) is extremely alert and keeping a close monitor of the ongoing situation between India and Pakistan. The decision on continuation or cancellation of IPL will also be given very soon. The BCCI held an emergency meeting after the tensions escalated between India and Pakistan on May 8.
The PBKS vs DC match was suspended following which the BCCI officials convened for an urgent meeting. The match was halted in the 11th over when Punjab Kings was at the score of 122 and there was an abrupt blackout. However, it was later linked to air raid alerts in nearby regions including Jammu and Pathankot.
As the tensions grew, the fans were evacuated from the venue as 80% of the stadium was filled at the time of match.
“We are reviewing the situation right now,” IPL chairman Arun Dhumal told PTI
“It’s an evolving situation. We haven’t received any directive from the government. Decision will be taken keeping the best interest of all stakeholders in mind,” Dhumal added.

Referring to the recent query about Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru match to be held at Lucknow’s Ekana Stadium, IPL chairman Arun Dhumal stated, “It is on as of now but obviously it is an evolving situation.”
Dhumal was witnessed taking the evacuation drive personally during the Dharamsala incident and requesting the public to evacuate peacefully but in a timely manner.
