Champions Trophy 2025: New Zealand defeated hosts Pakistan badly in the opening match of the Champions Trophy 2025. In this match played at Karachi Stadium on Wednesday, 19 February, Pakistan had to face defeat against New Zealand by a huge margin of 60 runs.
After this crushing defeat, perhaps the mental condition of Pakistani players has deteriorated, that is why they have started threatening India. The big match between India and Pakistan is to be played in Dubai on 23 February. Before this match, former Pakistani spin bowler Saqlain Mushtaq has threatened Team India.
“India Should Be Taught A Lesson”
Spinner Saqlain Mushtaq, who has taken nearly 500 international wickets for Pakistan, while talking to a Pakistani news channel, expressed his displeasure over India’s decision not to go to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025 and the visa process. Mushtaq said that Pakistan now needs to take a tough stand against India.
He said, “We praise Indian players. The youth here want to see Virat Kohli and Jaspreet Bumrah playing, but their tantrums are not coming to an end. I don’t understand which world they are living in and what do they want to prove. When will they show wisdom and take the game as a game with an open heart?”
He further said, “Does just wearing a tie and speaking in English make someone civilized? Pakistan should take a tough stand against India and teach them a lesson.”
Statement Regarding Indian Visa Process
Saqlain Mushtaq, while mentioning a personal experience, said that he had to face a lot of problems while getting an Indian visa. When he was selected as the spin coach of the New Zealand team, he had to face a lot of delay in the Indian visa application process. He said, “I had booked an online visa appointment from Leicester and got the time after two weeks. When I went there, I was made to wait in the queue for four hours. It was a very embarrassing experience for me.”
Team India Will Play All Matches In Dubai
The Indian team will play all its matches in the Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. India had decided not to go to Pakistan for the tournament, after which the ICC decided to hold all India’s matches in Dubai. Even if the Indian team reaches the semi-finals or finals, these matches will also be played in Dubai instead of Pakistan. After facing Bangladesh on February 20, the Indian team will clash with Pakistan on February 23. At the same time, India will face New Zealand on March 2.
