The 2025 Champions Trophy will commence in Pakistan on Wednesday, with the home team taking on New Zealand in the inaugural match. Pakistan fast bowler Haris Rauf, though, has to consider sitting out because of an injury. He has had chest and abdominal muscle pain, which caused a side strain. He could not play in all the games of recently finished tri-series against New Zealand and South Africa because of this problem.
Haris Rauf Injury Update
Rauf has been said to be fit to be considered, but it will take a while for him to get fully back into action. Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan mentioned that Rauf hasn’t yet bowled with full intensity. The good news is that he is experiencing no pain at the moment, although it isn’t clear if he will play against New Zealand.
Rizwan’s Update on Rauf’s Fitness
Rizwan, at a pre-match press conference, said, “Haris Rauf bowled 80% yesterday and today he is bowling in full rhythm. He told us that he is not feeling any discomfort. So, I am hopeful that he is fully fit.”

How Did Haris Rauf Get Injured?
Rauf had injured himself in the first ODI of the tri-series against New Zealand and missed all the subsequent matches. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to rest him as a precautionary measure to allow him ample time to heal before a tournament such as the Champions Trophy. He was unsure about his availability when the former Pakistani seamer Mohammad Amir stated that in case the injury is a side strain, then it might take a long while to recover from.
