ENG Vs IND: Shubman Gill Reflects On India’s Loss At Lords, Gives Special Mention To Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja batted brilliantly and even though India was bowled out for 170, he remained not out at 61 and showed his masterclass.

India lost the third Test at iconic Lords by 22 runs following which England now has 2-1 lead in the series. In the second innings, India’s batting order completely collapsed and at 112/8 the hopes to win completely seem to have vanished bur Ravindra Jadeja came in to bat and stood till the end as the sole warrior. Even the top effort from Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj to hold the partnership from the other side was commendable.

“Extremely proud. At one point, we thought if we get a lead of 80-100 that might be crucial for us, because we knew the fifth day on this wicket might not be that easy to chase 150-200, so we were thinking if we can get a lead of 80 runs, we would be in a good position.”

“I think the last one hour (yesterday), we could have applied ourselves a bit better, especially the last 2 wickets that fell. And even this morning, the way they came out with the plans, we were hoping for one 50-run partnership and if we had gotten one 50-run partnership in the top order, then things would have been easier for us,” said Indian skipper Gill
