Glenn Maxwell Injury Update: Maxwell Ruled Out Of IPL 2025? Here’s What We Know!

Glenn Maxwell's campaign this season has been disappointing with the bat scoring only 48 runs in six innings, with four single-digit scores on the trot.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) dealt with a huge blow as captain Shreyas Iyer confirmed at the toss in match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) that Glenn Maxwell has broken his finger. The injury was sustained during a practice session ahead of their rain-affected match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on April 26. His PBKS and Australian team-mate Marcus Stoinis broke the news that the injury is so severe it could keep Maxwell out for the remainder of the IPL 2025 season.

Glenn Maxwell Has Fractured Finger

“It’s very unfortunate that he’s got a fractured finger,” Shreyas said at the toss. “To be honest, we haven’t decided about the replacements yet so far but we are pretty strong in our team’s mindset and what we have outside of our playing XI. We’ve got varieties of players who can win you matches. So we’re going to stick to that as much as possible.”

“Its Likely He Is Out”

Stoinis also mentioned that: “Unfortunately, Maxi’s broken his finger,” he told the broadcasters before the match in Chennai. “He broke it just before the last game at training. He didn’t think it was too bad, but it ended up getting pretty bad. He had scans and yeah, the results weren’t great. So unfortunately for Maxi, I think it’s likely he’s out for the tournament.”
