With India about to take on arch-rivals Pakistan in a much-awaited Dubai clash, vice-captain Shubman Gill gave his views on the conditions before the match. The match will take place on February 23 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Challenging Conditions in Dubai: No Dew Expected
Shubman Gill pointed out a key point from the last match – there was no dew in Dubai. Contrary to expectations, there was no dew in the light, and hence chasing became a tougher task. Therefore, the Indian team would like to set a score instead of chasing, as the conditions might not be suitable for batting in lights.

Slow, Low Wickets Likely To Test Batting Skills
In accordance with Gill, the pitch should provide slow and low bounce and it will make batting a challenge. Batters should concentrate on proper strike rotation, particularly during the middle overs (11-40), because the middle phase would be crucial in establishing dominance. Teams will get the benefit of playing shrewd cricket under these circumstances and playing sensibly.
Spinners To Play A Key Role
The Dubai pitch is famous for supporting spinners, and from India’s last match against Bangladesh, it is understood that the ball will turn, making things difficult for batters. As spin is anticipated to play the key role, the team which can play well with the spinners will enjoy a huge benefit.
