The Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) is in its last phase and there have been few key changes in the venues of Qualifiers, Eliminator and Final. Following the one week suspension of IPL due to India-Pakistan tensions, the BCCI announced a revised schedule which initially had 6 venues that were set to host the remaining league phase. But there have been constant disruptions in matches due to rain which has forced BCCI to go the other way with the venues.
Mullanpur to Stage Qualifier 1 And Eliminator
According to a report by Hindustan Times, The New Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) in Mullanpur which has already hosted four league stage matches will now be hosting the two important playoffs matches – the Qualifier 1 (May 29) and Eliminator (May 30).
Ahmedabad To Host Qualifier 2 And Final
It has been decided that Ahmedabad will be hosting the Qualifier 2 (June 1) and Final (June 3). The team that loses Qualifier 1 will be playing against the team that wins the Eliminator.
Why Is There A Change In Venues?
Originally it was decided that Hyderabad and Kolkata will be hosting the playoffs and final but with the onset of monsoon, weather disruptions have become a big concern. The IPL Governing Council then decided to make these changes and ensure that the matches go on without interruptions.
“Weather conditions and other logistical parameters” as mentioned by Hindustan Times is the key reason behind the shift.
