Setback In Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

He worked really hard on his physical fitness and could make a comeback for Mumbai’s Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy side. However, his form in the T20 event was anything but impressive. Shaw scored only 197 runs in nine matches at an average of 21.88, with his only noteworthy contribution coming in the quarterfinal against Vidarbha.

Shreyas Iyer On Prithvi Shaw’s Form

After Mumbai won the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, captain Shreyas Iyer said that Shaw is going through a bad patch. He added that in professional cricket, nobody will ‘babysit’ him and everyone is expected to take responsibility for their performance.

“We can’t babysit anyone, right? Every professional who is playing at this level, they need to know what they should be doing. And he has also done it in the past. It’s not that he hasn’t. He has to focus. He has to sit back, put a thinking cap on and then figure out himself. He will get the answer. No one can force him to do anything,” said Shreyas.
