Australia’s bowlers produced an excellent performance on Day 1 of this match with Nathan Lyon and Mitchell Starc both featuring on three wickets each. Kuhnemann added three wickets to his total score while Travis Head added one. So much more impressive was Kuhnemann as he followed a nine-wicket haul at the first Test, sealing Australia with a comprehensive lead 1-0 lead in the series. The 28-year-old left-arm spinner had come back in style following a surgery on his right thumb when he suffered an injury during Brisbane Heat as part of the Big Bash League.
