Mumbai Indians secured their spot in the IPL 2025 Playoffs and defeated Delhi Capitals at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Suryakumar Yadav played an incredible knock of 73 runs and was given Player of the match award. But one his one gesture melted hearts as he dedicated his POTM award to his wife Devisha Shetty.
“It’s been 13 games now. My wife told me a sweet story today. She said you’ve got all the awards except POTM. This award is special today. From the team’s point of view, the knock was important, and also, this trophy is for her. She waits for such moments and we celebrate it obviously, looking forward to it,” Suryakumar Yadav said in the post-match presentation.

One of the special thing about the post-match presentation was after Mumbai Indians won it started to rain heavily and Suryakumar Yadav held an umbrella and collected his POTM award. SKY also noticed Harsha Bhogle, who was conducting the presentation, standing in the rain. Without hesitation, Suryakumar extended the umbrella and invited Harsha to step under it with him
Suryakumar Yadav (73 runs off 43 balls) brilliant knock and Naman Dhir’s cameo (24 runs off 8 balls) guided MI towards a solid 59 runs win. Mumbai Indians is currently at the fourth position in the IPL Points table with a solid net run rate of +1.292.
