India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah suffered a back injury in New Year’s Test in Sydney during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 following which he had to miss the Champions Trophy as well. Still there is no confirmation whether Jasprit Bumrah will be joining Mumbai Indians from the first week or there’s going to be a delay.
Jasprit Bumrah Undergoing Rehabilitation
Currently India’s star pacer is undergoing rehabilitation at the BCCI’s centre of excellence in Bengaluru. However, there is no confirmed date for his return, and uncertainty looms over his participation in IPL 2025 with Mumbai Indians.
As of now there’s no confirmation whether he will feature for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2025 or not because Bumrah has faced a injury where he has a surgery earlier also.

Workload Management Very Important For Bumrah
The former New Zealand cricketer Shane Bond also highlighted a critical concern for Bumrah and that is the transition from T20 cricket to Tests. According to Bond, this phase is the “Danger Zone” for fast bowlers as the workload shift can put immense strain on the body. The transition from T20 cricket to Tests will be a big challenge for Bumrah keeping in mind his injury which shouldn’t be triggered due to immense workload.
