Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) did the unimaginable and chased a target of 228 runs against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) which booked their spot in Qualifier 1 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 29.
RCB Secures Spot In Qualifier 1
RCB displayed a pure team effort and sailed through with Virat Kohli (54), Mayank Agarwal (41) and Jitesh Sharma (85) being the top scorers for the team. The stand-in skipper Jitesh Sharma came in and conquered, he started his innings when RCB was losing wickets but handling the situation under pressure, he took the match deep and won it.
Josh Hazlewood Will Play In Knockout
But one of the positives that came in was about Josh Hazlewood, after the match RCB’s stand-in skipper Jitesh Sharma mentioned that Hazlewood will be playing the knockouts and is likely to be available in very crucial match against Punjab Kings.
“We want to enjoy the moment. But we’ll try to recover well. We’ll look to carry the momentum into the next match. Credit goes to Rajat. I had the responsibility of maintaining his record. Hazlewood will perhaps play in the knockout. We have a strong belief system. We have match winners. Look at our playing XI, and we have match winners.”

Winning Qualifier 1 Means Direct Entry Into IPL 2025 Final
This is a golden chance for RCB to seal their position in the IPL 2025 final, as if they win the match against PBKS then they’ll get direct entry. The match will be held at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur and it will be a thriller as both the teams will be eyeing IPL 2025 final.
