Even at 40 years of age, the Portuguese legend is far from calling it a day. He is keen on achieving a milestone of his own a 1,000th career goal. Currently, he is very close to this figure with 936 goals under his belt.

Ronaldo’s Impact At Al-Nassr

Ronaldo moved to Al-Nassr in January 2023, a signing that really boosted the Saudi Pro League profile. In two and a half seasons, he played 111 games and scored 99 goals, of which 25 have come in the latest season.

While Ronaldo performed on the field, Al-Nassr underperformed as a team. The team finished 2025 in third position, 13 points behind league winners Al-Ittihad, and failed to win any top trophies throughout his tenure.

What’s Next for the Football Icon?

A number of potential destinations are waiting for Ronaldo. There was speculation about move to Major League Soccer (MLS) would have him joined by his longtime competitor Lionel Messi, perhaps rekindling one of football’s greatest rivalries on US soil. Alternatively, Ronaldo might return to Sporting CP, the team he joined as a young player.

There is also increasing excitement surrounding next year’s FIFA Club World Cup to be held in the United States. While Al-Nassr did not make it, FIFA President Gianni Infantino recently alluded to Ronaldo possibly being included if he moves to a qualifying club before the tournament kicks off.
