England’s Adil Rashid has expressed optimism and resilience following England’s unexpected defeat to Afghanistan in the ICC World Cup 2023. In the wake of a surprising 69-run loss to Afghanistan in Delhi, England is aware of the need to not only secure a victory against South Africa but also to deliver a performance that can rejuvenate the spirits of a disheartened squad.

The defending champions faced a setback on the opening night in Ahmedabad with a loss to New Zealand, followed by a dramatic upset in Delhi on Sunday. While this precarious situation raises concerns behind the scenes, Adil Rashid, despite three losses in their nine group games, maintained a composed demeanor in public.

Rashid commented, “Wins and losses are a part of the game, and it’s impossible to win every match. We’re not overly worried about one loss. We acknowledge the tough competition ahead but are confident that we can unite and perform well.”

During the match against Afghanistan, Rashid was one of the few England players who delivered an impressive performance, taking three wickets for 42 runs. However, he acknowledged that the team’s collective efforts fell short. He also expressed concerns that the offensive, proactive approach that previously defined the team was currently lacking.

“Hopefully, we can produce strong performances and kickstart the competition. We still have six games ahead, and we hope to secure wins and build momentum. I have confidence in the squad and the team; I’m sure we will make a strong comeback,” Rashid added.

He further emphasized the team’s continued confidence and support for their players, maintaining a positive outlook. However, the team’s supporters may need to witness a significant turnaround in Mumbai this weekend to share in those sentiments.

The Original Kaanta Laga Girl: ‘It Was My Good Fortune That The Big Hit Song Came To Me’

Ashaji recalls Kaanta laga as an upbeat folk dance number  composed by Rahul Dev Burman. “It was peppy and catchy. We were all humming the  song when shooting it. But did I think it would become such a rage in retrospect? No! Success on that level cannot be predicted by anyone. I remember the song Maar diya jaye ke chhor diya jaye in my film Mera Gaon Mera Desh. That too became such craze, although Lataji’s other  songs  in the film were also outstanding.”
