After showcasing a great performance in RCB’s last match against PBKS, Devdutt Padikkal reveals the reason behind his great comeback form after after a couple of poor seasons. Padikkal ended his scoring drought by scoring a quick 61 off 35 balls while maintaining a powerful attacking batting approach against PBKS. His powerful game included frequent sixes and boundaries enabling him to score his fifty in just 30 balls. Padikkal’s innings drove RCB forward in their run chase while showing visible signs of increased confidence in his performance.
Padikkal’s Mantra For The Improvement In His Form
“Nothing special, honestly. I’ve been enjoying my batting, and that’s been the key. Over the last year, I’ve worked really hard to reach this level in T20 cricket. The previous couple of seasons weren’t great, and I was the first to take responsibility for that. Once you accept that you weren’t good enough, that’s when you start improving. I had to go back to the drawing board and work on myself,” said Padikkal.
Padikkal’s IPL Struggle
Devdutt Padikkal has identified the reason for his struggles, which began after leaving RCB in 2021. His subsequent moves to RR for two years (2022-23) and then to LSG in 2024 resulted in a lack of stability, both in terms of team affiliation and batting order. This instability affected his consistency at the crease. Now that he has returned to his original club and secured a stable batting position, we are seeing an improvement in his form.
