Former Indian cricketer and a respected commentator, Sanjay Manjrekar has shown his statisfaction with the way India have conducted their business in the 1st Test. On the first day too when when he indirectly mentioned the issue posed by Virat Kohli at the off-stump line when He hailed KL Rahul. Kohli has become a retired Test player yet remains a major figure in the discourse of the cricketing fraternity. Several assert that Kohli would have contributed more to the Testing side whereas others feel that it is high time that the young Indians should take forward the baton.

“Cricket is a by far the no 1 sport in India. There is tremendous incentive for young kids to take up cricket. Hence ‘What after fab 4, or what after Virat’ is an irrational fear. “

KL Rahul’s Performance In England Vs India
KL Rahul was instrumental in steady innings of India in the 1st Test against England at Headingley. He started the innings with a 91-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal in the first day and took over the second innings steering it to a 47 not-out when India had lost an innings early. Rahul also played a very crucial role on Day 4, where he smashed a brilliant century and made a crucial 195-run stand with Rishabh Pant to give England a challenging target of 371. He was very reliable in both the innings as he displayed his consistency and cool head in adverse circumstances playing to the field.
