Senior India coach Ravi Shastri was not much impressed by the shoddy fielding of the Indian team in the first test where England reduced the gap against the visitors considerably. India fielders gave life to Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope and Harry Brook throughout Day 2 and Day 3 event and enabled England to score 465 and surrendered only a lead of six runs to India. The India players were experiencing faults, namely the fielding of Yashasvi Jaiswal who dropped half of the opportunity to get rid of the players at the half of two days. Talking to Sky Sports Shastri noted that India would regret having allowed England to hard turn things around to make the match a cliff-hanger.
Ravi Shastri’s Statement
“I think India will be disappointed, too. England have pulled things back and this game is now on an even keel. This pitch is still good so England will fancy their chances of chasing and India know they have got to bat the day tomorrow.”

“They have got to get past 300 and put England under pressure. Had they held their catches, they should have had a lead of 150-plus. There is a lot of time left in this Test match and the game is even,” said Shastri.
