After Jason Gillispie resigned from the coaching position of the Pakistan cricket team, Azhar Mahmood has taken over as the head coach for Pakistan in the longest format of the game. Pakistan ended up at the last spot in the WTC 2023-25 cycle with just 5 victories in 14 matches. Since 2019, Pakistan has changed 10 coaches, which depicts the uncertainties over the position. Azhar Mahmood, a former Pakistan cricketer and now a British citizen, will coach the team for Test matches. He will remain coach until his current tenure expires, which is till April next year.
