The squad of Team India has been announced for the upcoming tour of England with Shubman Gill has been named as the skipper, whereas, Rishabh Pant named as the vice-captain of the side. By this, Gill becomes the 37th captain of Team India in Test format. Gill had a stiff competition with the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul but selectors showed faith in him and made him the skipper.
The upcoming tour of England will be Gill’s first assignment. The tour will be Gill’s litmus test that how he can handle pressure in tough situations and how can deliver his best with captaincy and batting.

7 Names Are Missing From The Squad
The selection committee, headed by Ajit Agarkar, has picked a young Team India for the tour of England. Following the retirement of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, significant changes have been made to the Indian Test team. Several prominent players have been left out of the squad announced for the Test series against England. Notable omissions include Shreyas Iyer, Mohammed Shami, Sarfaraz Khan, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Harshit Rana, and Devdutt Padikkal.
