Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) earned their first IPL title by defeating Punjab Kings (PBKS) by 6 runs in the final. Lead by Rajat Patidar, the team with Virat Kohli finally got their first IPL trophy after 18 years. By choosing to bowl initially, Punjab limited Royal Challengers Bangalore to 190/9, mainly thanks to Arshdeep Singh (3 for 40) and Kyle Jamieson (3 for 48). RCB’s top run-scorer was Virat Kohli with 43 runs in just 35 deliveries. RCB did not start well and fell regularly as they lost wickets. Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2 for 38) and Krunal Pandya (2 for 17) then bowled very well to limit PBKS to 184 for 7 in 20 overs.
