‘I Would Like To Go On An Empty Island With…’ – Cheteshwar Pujara Aspires For An Expedition With This Aussie Cricketer

Known for their marathon batting performances, the duo seemed perfectly suited to survive on a deserted island where patience would be their greatest ally.

During a humorous chatter on Star Sports, former Indian cricketer Harbhajan Singh in conversation with BGT’s star performer Cheteshwar Pujara, asked which of the Australian cricketers does the latter wants to go on an abandoned island. Upon asking this Pujara came out with the name of Australia’s batting ace Steve Smith. He aspires to get some insights of the Australian’s “Weird” batting style.

A Great Expedition

Known for their marathon batting performances, the duo seemed perfectly suited to survive on a deserted island where patience would be their greatest ally. Pujara, with his remarkable ability to occupy the crease for hours, would undoubtedly become the island’s primary food gatherer. His technique of wearing down opponents would translate perfectly to wearing down coconut shells and persistent tropical vegetation. Steve Smith, with his unorthodox movements and incredible adaptability, would construct the most bizarrely engineered shelter known to mankind – likely a structure that would confuse any passing wildlife as much as his batting stance confuses bowlers. Their conversations would likely revolve around batting techniques, defensive strategies, and the occasional debate about who could survive longer without modern conveniences. Smith would entertain with his eccentric mannerisms, while Pujara would maintain a stoic resolve, meticulously planning their survival like he meticulously builds his innings.

Classroom for Smith?

In essence, their island adventure would be less “Survivor” and more “Strategic Batting Masterclass”. But it would be interesting to imagine whether this expediton of theirs could do some kind of alter personality or could turn out to be a classroom for Steve Smith as Pujara would thrust some manners into the Aussie star.
