Despite the tough times they are experiencing in IPL, the Delhi Capitals players have a light mood, said Munaf Patel. Ahead of their game with Mumbai Indians, the coach explained that the team loves to enjoy themselves, win or lose. Shuffling the order of the Delhi team’s batsmen this year has meant they have often struggled to perform consistently. Rahul made a brilliant century when Delhi batted first against Gujarat Titans, but in the end, Delhi lost the match.
Munaf Patel’s Statement
“It is very difficult to talk in the dressing room. We discuss the line-up at the hotel. What will you discuss in the dressing room? You win a match, you go to the hotel, you lose a match, you go to the hotel. In the dressing room, if you win, it’s a party, if you lose, it’s a party, what will you discuss there?” Munaf Patel joked ahead of Delhi’s match vs Mumbai.
“When we are in the dressing room, our goal is to leave from there as soon as possible. That is our only goal,” Munaf’s reply left everyone confused.
DC’s Performance In IPL 2025
Out of 12 matches played so far in IPL 2025, Delhi Capitals have won 6, lost 5 and were left with one match that ended in no result. They are in the mix for playoffs since they have 13 points and a Net Run Rate of 0.260. Yet, their play over the last five games has included three losses. After defeats in each of two matches, they finally picked up a win, only to fall to another defeat. Such a mixed record suggests the team has lost the momentum at the point that matters most, so must pick themselves back up for their last games.
