Renowned England cricket team captain Michael Vaughan once again criticized the accuracy of Hawkeye technology following Joe Root’s dismissal on Day 3 of the fourth Test match against India in Ranchi. In the 17th over of England’s second innings, an Ashwin delivery struck Root’s pads, prompting skipper Rohit Sharma to request a review despite the umpire’s initial decision. The replay confirmed that the ball pitched on the leg-stump line and was destined to hit the stumps. However, Vaughan remained unconvinced and shared his disappointment on social media.
Vaughan later on deleted the post for unknown reasons but went on to post more tweets regarding the same dismissal.

Before this incident, Dhruv Jurel displayed resilience with a score of 90 before England managed to bowl out India for 307 runs, taking a 46-run lead on the third day of the fourth Test in Ranchi. Shoaib Bashir claimed one wicket in the morning session, securing his first five-wicket haul in Tests. Meanwhile, spinner Tom Hartley dismissed Jurel just before lunch to conclude the innings.

Starting the day at 219-7, Jurel extended the eighth-wicket partnership with Kuldeep Yadav to 76 runs, frustrating the English bowlers. However, James Anderson ended the partnership by dismissing Kuldeep for 28 runs. With this wicket, Anderson stands just two wickets away from reaching the milestone of 700 Test wickets, joining the elite company of Sri Lanka’s Muttiah Muralitharan and the late Australian legend Shane Warne.
