IND Vs SA: Dean Elgar Scores 14th Test Century As South Africa Take Control

South African Test batter Dean Elgar scored his 14th Test century against Team India in what is his retirement series

Taking the field against a lethal Indian bowling attack on Day 2, Elgar managed to face the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin and Prasidh Krishna and still take South Africa’s score on the right path.

His 140-ball century came at the right time for South Africa when his opening partner Aiden Markram and Tony de Zorzi were sent back cheaply in the innings.

Dean Elgar’s innings witnessed some well hit boundaries in the innings as the 36-year-old continued to frustrate the bowling lineup on the day.

Despite of Mohd Siraj and Prasidh Krishna taking one wicket each, no bowler could take control of the innings.

With India putting up a total of 245 in front of The Proteas courtesy of a gritty knock by KL Rahul, the home team felt more in control of the game and could take a healthy lead going into the next day.

KL Rahul was the only batter among the Indian team who managed to give the team some kind of momentum on the tough Centurion pitch.

Virat Kohli was looking in good form but got beaten by a spectacular delivery courtesy of Kagiso Rabada.
