New Delhi: India’s Women’s cricket team defeated Bangladesh Women by 8 runs on Wednesday, July 12 at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. With this win, Harmanpreet Kaur-led team India sealed the series by 2-0.
Batting first after winning the toss, India scored 95 runs, losing eight wickets in 20 overs. In reply, the Bangladesh team was reduced to 87 runs in 20 overs. The third match of the series will be played on 13 July.

India’s innings
India had set a target of 96 runs in 20 overs in front of the hosts. Team India scored 95 runs, losing eight wickets in 20 overs. As India’s batter flopped. Smriti Mandhana was dismissed for 13 runs, Shefali Verma for 19 runs and Jemimah Rodrigues for eight runs in 21 balls.
Captain Harmanpreet Kaur returned for duck. Yastika Bhatia was dismissed for 11 runs, Harleen Deol for six runs, Deepti Sharma for 10 runs and Amanjot Kaur for 14 runs. Pooja Vastrakar remained unbeaten after scoring seven runs and Minnu Mani scored five runs. Sultana Khatoon took a maximum of three wickets. At the same time, Fahima Khatoon got two wickets. Marufa Akhtar, Nahida Akhtar and Rabeya Khan got one wicket each.

Bangladesh’s Innings
Bangladesh, in response, had a poor start. Openers Shamima Sultana and Shathi Rani were dismissed after scoring five runs each. Murshida Khatoon was dismissed for four runs and Ritu Moni was also dismissed for four runs.
After this, Shorna Akhtar and captain Nigar Sultana added 34 runs for the fifth wicket. Shorna was dismissed after scoring seven runs. After that, Captain Nigar Sultana also became the pavilion mover by scoring 38 runs in 55 balls with the help of two fours. She was the highest run scorer of her team.
Bangladesh needed 10 runs in the last over. Shafali Verma came to bowl. A total of four wickets fell in the over. Out of these, Shefali bagged three, while one player was run out. Shefali dismissed Nahida Akhtar (6), Fahima Khatoon (0) and Marufa Akhtar (0) in the last over.
