Injury Concerns For Team India Ahead Of ICC Mega Event!

ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024: The Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is going to start from October 3. The name of the 16-member Indian team participating in this World Cup to be held in UAE has also been announced. The Indian team is currently preparing hard for this World Cup by camping in Bengaluru. Meanwhile, Team India has also suffered a major setback. Not one or two but 4 players of the team are struggling with their injuries. Due to this, the difficulties of team management have increased.

Pooja Vastrakar Suffered A Shoulder Injury

Team India’s star all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar plays a key role for the team in both bowling and batting. Pooja Vastrakar is suffering from a shoulder injury. She has to train with the help of painkillers and injections. The team management hopes that she will be fit by the World Cup. However, she is not fully fit at present. Like Pooja Vastrakar, the team’s fast bowler Arundhati Reddy is also suffering from a shoulder injury. She recently made her place in the Indian cricket team after performing brilliantly in domestic cricket. At present, Arundhati has been given rest and it is expected that she will also be fully fit by the World Cup.

Jemimah And Shreyanka’s Injury Is Also A Big Setback

Apart from Pooja Vastrakar and Arundhati Reddy, injuries to star bowler Shreyanka Patil and batter Jemimah Rodrigues are raising concerns for Team India. Shreyanka has a fracture in her finger, while Jemimah is also struggling with a finger injury. Jemimah is practicing in the camp with tape on her finger. Whereas, Shreyanka is currently resting. The team management is expecting both these players to be fit soon.

Indian Team Announced For Women’s T20 World Cup 2024

Harmanpreet Kaur (captain), Smriti Mandhana (vice-captain), Shefali Verma, Deepti Sharma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia (wicketkeepers), Pooja Vastrakar, Arundhati Reddy, Renuka Singh Thakur, Dayalan Hemalatha, Asha Shobhana, Radha Yadav, Shreyanka Patil (if fit) and Sajna Sajeevan.

Travelling Reserves: Uma Chhetri (wicketkeeper), Tanuja Kanwar and Saima Thakur.

Non-Traveling Reserve: Raghavi Bisht and Priya Mishra.
