Injury Concern: Australia’s Tayla Vlaeminck will not participate any further in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup after she dislocated her shoulder. The injury is a lousy return for the young cricketer who participated in the second appearance with the team at the T20 World Cup, as this is the first season since joining the team in 2018.

Replacement Sidelined

The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 Event Technical Committee has confirmed the all-rounder Heather Graham to replace Vlaeminck in the Australian team. Heather Graham has played five T20Is and will be available for selection in the last group match for Australia vs India as well as for the knockout stage if Australia qualifies.

Vlaeminck’s Career Challenges

Much of Vlaeminck’s career has been marred by injuries, and the latest was sustained when she attempted to prevent a boundary four balls into her return for Australia against Pakistan in the group stage.

Alyssa Healy’s Fitness Worries

Australia is also monitoring Alyssa Healy’s fitness, who retired hurt in the same game against Pakistan. She made 37 runs from 23 balls before injuring her right foot in making a single.

Next Group A Game

Australia will look to finish strongly in the championship when they play India in their final group match on Sunday evening.
