2nd Highest Team Total
The match saw KKR smash the record for the 2nd highest total in IPL history. The team scored a mammoth 272/7 in their 20 overs.
Sunil Narine led the scintillating batting display with a fiery 85 on the night, hitting at a strike rate of 217. Choosing to bat first on a pitch like this turned out for the best as Shreyas Iyer’s side put up their best total so far in the IPL.

Narine’s brilliant innings were supported by debutant Raghuvanshi who scored a swashbuckling 54 runs. The RR duo of Russell and Rinku continued KKR’s innings in some fashion, scoring a collective total of 67 runs in just 17 balls to take KKR to 272/7.
Delhi’s Sluggish Chase
In reply, Delhi Capitals were expected to strike back with the bat but saw their batting lineup decimated within the powerplay. Delhi struggled at 33/4 at 5.3 overs. It was skipper Rishabh Pant and Tristan Stubbs who stitched up a 93-run partnership to take Delhi further into the game.
However, all the runs turned out to be in the losing side’s favour as wickets at quick intervals saw Kolkata Knight Riders take home one of the best victories in the IPL and add another win to their unbeaten streak of 2 match wins.

Micthell Starc proved his mettle at the end as well, as the Aussie pacer who fetched the most bucks at the IPL auction opened his account on the night.
Starc dismissed two of his Aussie buddies, Mitchell Marsh and David Warner to end his spell with figures of 2/25. His teammate Vaibhav Arora who came in as an impact substitute in place of injured Harshit Rana also managed to get 3 wickets to his name.
