India’s ace pacer Jasprit Bumrah has not been featured in any tournament. He suffered a back injury during the Sydney Test and hasn’t been able to make a comeback since then. Jasprit Bumrah’s comeback in competitive cricket seems a bit delayed as reports indicate that he hasn’t bowled at full of his capability at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence. Akash Deep’s return has also been delayed by 1 week.
“Bumrah’s injury is a bit more serious. The medical team wants to ensure he doesn’t suffer a stress fracture. Bumrah himself is being careful. He is bowling at the CoE but it could take longer to get back in full swing. No definite timeline has been set yet, but one hopes he gets back by mid-April. Akash Deep too hopes to get back by April 10,” a BCCI source told The Times of India.

The BCCI medical team has decided to tread very cautiously with Bumrah, given India are slated to play five Tests in England immediately after the IPL. As it is, the national selectors and the team management are not banking on Bumrah to play all five Tests.

Big Reason To Worry For Mumbai Indians
The 5 times IPL Champions, Mumbai Indians have been in serious trouble this season and without Jasprit Bumrah out from the side, concerns have been raised for Hardik Pandya and team. They are now at the 5th spot with only 1 win from 3 matches. Another concern for the Indians is Rohit Sharma’s struggling form. In the last appearance against the Kolkata Knight Riders, Rohit was not included in the playing XI and was inducted as an impact player which was shocking for the spectators.
