Massive boost for KKR as express pacer Umran Malik has joined the KKR camp not to play just yet, but to continue his rehab and recovery journey alongside the squad. Though he’s not officially part of the playing XI for now, having been ruled out of the season earlier due to injury, his presence in the dressing room adds both energy and promise for the future.
Good News Ahead Of PBKS Clash
This development comes just ahead of KKR’s high-stakes clash against Punjab Kings on April 26 at Eden Gardens, and fans are hopeful that working closely with the support staff and teammates will help Umran find his rhythm again.
KKR Picked Umran Malik
Umran, who was picked up by KKR for ₹75 lakhs in the 2025 IPL mega auction after being released by Sunrisers Hyderabad, had captured attention with his raw pace and fiery spells in earlier seasons. But injuries have sadly kept the speedster from realizing his full potential.
He’s managed to play just 26 matches since debuting in 2021, and only once back in 2022, did he complete a full IPL season. His last international outing came in 2023, after which he’s remained on the sidelines.
With KKR replacing him in the squad with left-arm spinner Chetan Sakariya, Umran’s road back to full fitness is still ongoing. But being around the team could be just the boost he needs.
For now, the focus is on recovery and readiness, not for this season, perhaps, but for a longer, more consistent run in the future.
