The batting coach for Gujarat Titans named Parthiv Patel offered commendation for Nicholas Pooran after LSG defeated them on April 12. Nicholas Pooran achieved an exceptional 61 runs from his 34 balls while leading LSG to win with six wickets and obtaining the Orange Cap with 349 runs through six matches including four half-centuries. During his conference interview after the match Parthiv acknowledged that Pooran becomes unstopable when he gets into a good batting rhythm. According to the captain the team should acknowledge defeat by congratulating Nicholas Pooran for his exceptional performance.
Parthiv Patel Reflects On Pooran’s Brilliance and Highlights Key Takeaways From GT’s Performance
“It is very difficult to plan against someone like Nicholas Pooran. We had our plans, but the game was in such a situation where we had to attack. Sometimes you have to just tell him, well played. That’s exactly how he batted. We have seen that if he gets going, he is really difficult to stop,” said Parthiv.
The victory streak for GT came to an end through this defeat although Parthiv remained optimistic about their performance. Both Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan received praise from the GT coach for their opening partnership after which he complimented Prasidh Krishna’s bowling performance. The team requires better fielding performance according to Parthiv.
Parthiv Patel Praises Consistency Of Sai Sudharsan And Stresses The Need For Improved Fielding
“Opening partnership was outstanding, there is no doubt about it. Both Shubman and Sai Sudharsan have been phenomenal for us throughout the season. I thought Prasidh Krishna has been bowling well, Mohammed Siraj has been bowling well but today wasn’t his day.”
“Sai played well, have been playing well. It’s not easy to show consistency in this format. The way he is batting, the shots he is playing, you can see his conventional touch. He plays low-risk cricket but keeps the strike rate high. What we need to improve upon is probably fielding. That’s something which can change the result of the game,” said Parthiv.
