Jason Gillespie Tears Into Pakistan Cricket Board, Reveals Reason Behind Sudden Resignation

Former Pakistan coach Jason Gillespie slammed Pakistan Cricket Board and stated the reason behind is sudden resignation.

Pakistan Cricket has never been less than a ‘circus’. Over four chairmen have been changed in the time span of the past 2.5 years whereas three head coaches have resigned. The performance of the team has been much appealing in international cricket as of now. Pakistan had a humiliating campaign in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 played in USA and West Indies earlier this year and were knocked out in the first phase of the tournament. On the other hand, the Pakistani team hasn’t been able to defeat small teams such as USA, Zimbabwe and Ireland. These teams have given tough competition to the ‘Men in Green’ in the recent times.

Jason Gillespie Slams PCB

Jason Gillespie is the recent name who resigned from the white-ball coach position of the Pakistan national cricket team. In a conversation with ABC Radio, Gillespie slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and stated that there was no communication between him and the PCB. He added that he wasn’t part of the decision in which team’s assistant coach Peter Nielsen got fired.

Jason Gillespie said, “The straw that broke the camel’s back I suppose was, as a head coach you like to have clear communication with your employer. And I was completely and utterly blindsided by a decision to not have high performance coach/senior assistant coach Tim Nielsen (who) was told his services were no longer required. I had absolutely zero communication from anyone about that and, after a number of other things that had gone on in the previous few months, that was probably the moment I thought ‘I’m not really sure if they want me to do this job or not.”
