LSG lost their final match of IPL 2025 yesterday to RCB. RCB needed 228 to beat LSG and ended the season in second place. Jitesh Sharma of RCB smashed 85 from only 33 deliveries, outshining the brilliant century by Rishabh Pant for LSG. Pant made a record score of 118 runs off 61 deliveries to help LSG set a new record for the highest total in the IPL. Here is what the team’s mentro Zaheer Khan has to say after LSG’s defeat.
Zaheer Khan’s Statement
“Lucknow Super Giants tried to regroup themselves in the tournament after injury concerns to quite a few of their main bowlers. On Tuesday, LSG finished their campaign with a six-wicket loss to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru.”

LSG’s Performance In This IPL Season
The LSG team had a difficult time this IPL, still finishing with only 6 wins out of 14 games. Mitchell Marsh gave some memorable matches for his team, but the side could not play consistently over the second half of the season. Their recent run showed the difference, losing four out of their final five matches to end the tournament. Failing to bowl well in key matches, along with occasional spending fielding sloppiness, too often approaches to points off the board. Despite scoring 12 points, LSG missed the playoffs and will need to sort out some important problems before next year.
