Shaik Rasheed represents Andhra Pradesh province in cricket where he played for both Indian youth squads and the India ‘A’ national team. His debut with the Andhra Pradesh First-Class team occurred nineteen times where he amassed 1,204 runs at a 37.62 average mark alongside 2 centuries and 7 half-centuries. Rasheed has managed only an average of 11.63 in List A (domestic one-day matches throughout his 12 matches. The Tamil Nadu T20 domestic league seems to agree with Rasheed as he scored 352 runs across his 17 matches with an average of 29.33 and two significant milestones including a century and fifty. The exceptional performance in domestic cricket secured his position on the Chennai Super Kings squad.

Joined Chennai Last Year
During the 2024 auction event Rasheed received a contract from the Chennai Super Kings without setting any minimum amount and at a base price of ₹20 lakh. Chennai made a second acquisition of Rasheed during the same year at his base cost of ₹30 lakh. His luck took a positive turn when opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad withdrew from the team which created instability inside the squad. The opportunity to become the youngest IPL debutant arrived to Rasheed when he was 20 years old.
Hard Work Finally Paid Off
The consistent efforts of Rasheed resulted in his First-Class debut for Andhra Pradesh against Services as he took the field on 24 February 2022. During the same year Rasheed scored an unbeaten 37 against Nagaland in his state team in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He participated in India’s Under-19 World Cup victory of 2022 by leading the team as its vice-captain.

Shone in Under-19 World Cup
During the West Indies tournament Rasheed achieved 94 runs against Australia followed by his important 50 off 84 balls against England in the final match. The impressive playing strategies of Rasheed caught both media outlets and cricket experts in the industry. His rising popularity attracted Chennai’s talent scouts to the point where the management immediately offered him a contract.
