His 5-wicket hall included crucial wickets of Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant and David Miller. New Record as Captain
The mastership of taking the highest number of wickets in a single IPL captaincy match belongs to Hardik Pandya after his recent match performance. Before this achievement, Anil Kumble held the record by taking 4 wickets for 16 runs during the 2009 IPL season. With five wickets during his match performance, Hardik surpassed Anil Kumble’s previous record marking Kumble as the second place holder.
Surpassing Ravichandran Ashwin
After getting five wickets against LSG Hardik rose to position two on the list of captains who obtained the most IPL wickets. Using 30 wickets across 36 matches Hardik Pandya positioned himself as a leader with the second-highest number of wickets taken in IPL captaincy appearances. Kumble achieved 30 IPL wickets in his 26 matches which tied him with the second position on this elite list.
