In the yesterdays final match of IPL 2025, RCB won their first IPL title after 18 years, beating PBKS by only six runs at the Narendra Modi Stadium. When it was all said and done, RCB finished with a total of 190/9 against PBKS and their opponents always found a way to block their chances until Iyer was dismissed for one, resulting in a one-run defeat for PBKS. Krunal Pandya became the player of the match and here is what he said after being awarded this IPL title.
Krunal Pandya’s Statement After Becoming POTM
“When we batted, we realised the slower you bowl the better it is. In this format, you need guts to do it. I just backed myself, thought I’ll vary my pace and keep it on the slower side more often. My biggest strength has been to learn what the situation requires. I knew I had to be brave to get wickets tonight. Thought I’d do that by bowling slow. If you’d have bowled quick, it’d have been a good wicket. But if you mixed it up it was tougher. Pitch actually got easier in the second innings. Have enjoyed my time with RCB so far, I said on day one I wanted to win. I told Hardik too that the Pandya household will have nine trophies in 11 years.”

What Happened In The RCB Vs PBKS Match
In the IPL final, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) emerged victorious over Punjab Kings (PBKS) by a margin of 6 runs. Because of his strong leadership, the team with Virat Kohli finally achieved the IPL title after waiting for 18 years. As a result of starting with bowling, Punjab stopped Royal Challengers Bangalore at 190/9, mainly through Arshdeep’s (3 wickets) and Kyle’s (3 wickets) performances. His 43 runs off 35 deliveries were the most the team achieved in the match. RCB began with several ups and downs, especially because many players were leaving. Two wickets each from Bhuvneshwar Kumar (2 for 38) and Krunal Pandya (2 for 17) slowed down the PBKS batsmen and they managed to score only 184 for 7 in the given innings.
