Prithvi Shaw’s Tough Times
Prithvi Shaw has experienced some rough patches in his cricketing career despite a promising beginning. Following his Test century on debut in 2018, his progress was stalled by injury, inconsistent form, and a one-month doping ban in 2019, which shattered his momentum. He also had fitness problems and was removed from the national team following poor performances, particularly on the Australia tour of 2020. Although he has been promising in domestic cricket and the IPL, Shaw has struggled to get back into the Indian team, making his career one of initial success and perpetual struggle.
Struggle In IPL
Prithvi Shaw represents the Delhi Capitals in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has played with the Delhi franchise since 2018. He was retained by the team for the IPL seasons of 2020, 2021, and 2022. The last IPL match played by Prithvi Shaw was on April 20, 2024, for the Delhi Capitals against the Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens, as per Mykhel. He made 13 runs off 7 balls during the game. He was not retained by Delhi Capitals for IPL 2025 and remained unsold at the auction.
