Salman Agha to Williamson, out Bowled!! Totally out of the blue from Williamson and he goes. A rush of blood from him, he gives the charge and is not to the pitch of the ball, Salman Agha cleverly drags the length back, the ball spins past the big hit and hits middle and leg. Just the wicket Pakistan needed. They were looking flat and this wicket should bring them back into the game.

Pakistan’s Probable Playing XI | New Zealand’s Probable Playing XI |
---|---|
Fakhar Zaman | Will Young |
Babar Azam | Devon Conway |
Saud Shakeel | Kane Williamson |
Mohammad Rizwan (wicketkeeper & captain) | Daryl Mitchell |
Salman Agha | Tom Latham (wicketkeeper) |
Tayyab Tahir | Glenn Phillips |
Khushdil Shah | Michael Bracewell |
Shaheen Afridi | Mitchell Santner (captain) |
Mohammad Hasnain | Matt Henry |
Naseem Shah | Ben Sears |
Abrar Ahmed | William O’Rourke |
Khushdil to Conway, no run, only Khushdil is interested in the LBW appeal, Conway comes down the track and gets outside off as he pad-bats it away, clearly the impact is outside off
Salman Agha to Conway, FOUR, excellent shot. On a length outside off, Conway shortens the length and cuts between two men at point, slight gap and he found that
Faheem Ashraf to Williamson, SIX, to backward square leg
Shaheen Afridi to Williamson, no run, full on off, Williamson gets forward and shows the full face of the bat to defend to mid-off
Shaheen Afridi to Conway, no run, good length on off, Conway gets forward and pushes with hards hands to backward point
William ORourke to Naseem Shah, out Caught by Michael Bracewell!! O'Rourke wraps it up! Full at the stumps, slower ball, and Naseem is through the lofted shot too early. He miscues it in the air off the toe-end, and Bracewell takes a brilliant catch running back from mid-on.
William ORourke to Faheem Ashraf, FOUR, dropped! To make it worse, it rolls into the boundary as well. Short ball angled into the body, Ashraf looks to pull but isn't in control as it goes in the air to fine leg. Duffy puts down a regulation catch
Phillips to Naseem Shah, SIX, Naseem can't hold himself back any longer! Steps out, doesn't quite get to the pitch of the ball but goes through with the slog.
Santner to Khushdil, out Caught by Phillips!! Khushdil has his hand on his head as he stands in a bit of disbelief. Tossed up outside off, he goes for the slog-sweep and hits it high in the air. Seems to be a long boundary on that side.
Phillips to Khushdil, no run, flat outside off, back of a length, Khushdil steps out but gets nowhere close to the pitch. He adjusts and knocks it down the pitch
Jacob Duffy to Tayyab Tahir, out Caught by Williamson!! Tahir hits the turf with his bat in frustration as he finds the fielder at midwicket! Short of length on off, he pulls it firmly but straight to Williamson who makes no mistake. Not sure if it was a cutter from Duffy. Tahir was hitting the ball well out there, and he didn't strike this one too badly either. Just couldn't keep it down.
Michael Bracewell to Tayyab Tahir, FOUR, 93.9kph, fired in full outside off, Tahir goes reverse and paddles it fine past the keeper. Fielder gives chase and looks to flick it back inside the ropes, but his foot is in contact with the cushion as he does so. Will be given as a boundary
Michael Bracewell to Tayyab Tahir, no run, turning in on leg, good length ball, Tahir tucks it to square leg
William ORourke to Rizwan, SIX, hooked for six! Short ball over the left shoulder, probably an off-cutter, Rizwan takes it on and deliberately hits it in the air. It clears the ropes at fine leg
William ORourke to Rizwan, leg byes, 1 run, Rizwan is hit on the helmet! Banged in short, zips through off the surface and he's beaten by the pace and bounce as he tries to hook it away. It goes off the back of the helmet to third man
Nathan Smith to Salman Agha, no run, in the air but just short of mid-off! Back of a length around off, Agha looks to break the shackles with a powerful blow down the ground, tries to muscle it on the up with a straight bat but doesn't get much elevation.
Santner to Rizwan, 1 run, slows it down, good length on middle, Rizwan goes on the back foot to punch wide of cover
Phillips to Salman Agha, FOUR, tossed up full outside off, Salman Agha gets forward and opens the face of the bat to loft well wide of sweeper cover, that's his area of strength
Michael Bracewell to Salman Agha, no run, again Salman Agha gets forward and turns the length delivery to mid-wicket
Michael Bracewell to Salman Agha, no run
Nathan Smith to Rizwan, FOUR, short and no pace to trouble Rizwan, it's at him and he rocks back to pull to the deep backward square-leg fence, so easy for Rizwan
Michael Bracewell to Rizwan, 1 run, good length and turns back into off, Rizwan goes on the back foot to punch to long-on
Nathan Smith to Babar Azam, out Caught&Bowled!! Shell-shocked fans inside the stadium. Babar Azam goes. Full just outside off, he drives it back to Nathan Smith who makes no mistake. As soon as Babar hit that he knew he was in trouble, drops the bat to the turf in disappointment.
Nathan Smith to Babar Azam, no run, goes wide of the crease and angles it in on a good length on middle, Babar Azam gets forward to nudge to mid-on
Michael Bracewell to Saud Shakeel, out Bowled!! Cleaned up. This has stayed low and Saud Shakeel is castled. He rocks back to cut the length delivery on off, skidded on low and beats the shot. Not there for the cut and the ball hits the off-stump. Bracewell strikes in his first over. For a moment Saud was not sure what happened there, wears a startled expression on his face
William ORourke to Saud Shakeel, 2 runs, good effort by Conway from fine-leg, but he can't catch that despite diving forward. Short outside the leg-stump, Saud Shakeel top-edges the pull and Conway was always second-favorite to get to the ball. Just about gets his fingers to it
Jacob Duffy to Babar Azam, FOUR, that's into the gap. A short of length delivery on off, Babar Azam short-arm jabs the pull and gets it away to the deep backward square-leg fence
William ORourke to Fakhar Zaman, out Caught by Will Young!! Big wicket. And Fakhar Zaman can't believe he has found mid-wicket. Full on the pads, he flicks straight to the fielder and it's a simple catch. Fakhar stands there for a while before going off, that was there to be hit for four. The in-form Fakhar goes for a cheap score and New Zealand will be very happy with that wicket.

After Rachin Ravindra’s head injury, questions are being raised about his playing in the Champions Trophy. Amidst the questions, coach Gary Stead said -
“The good thing is that he is improving very well. At present, we are following the protocol related to head injury. He was having headache for a few days, but now it is reducing which is a good thing. He batted in the nets for the first time, but there are some more things he has to go through before he is declared fit to play the match.”
