‘People Forget What They Have Achieved’: Yuvraj Singh On Virat Kohli And Rohit Sharma’s Poor Form

Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh has backed Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma amidst the constant trolling they have faced till now due to their poor form.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma and batter Virat Kohli received a lot of backlash from the fans due to their underperformance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. At one end, Rohit could only score 31 runs from three games whereas Virat ended up scoring 190 runs from five games and only one century. Virat could only score a ton in Perth and was dismissed cheaply on the fourth stump line by the Australian bowlers. Rohit opted out from the fifth Test in Sydney due to his bad form and there are speculations that he will retire from the red-ball format after this match.

He said to PTI, “We are talking about our greats, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, we are saying very bad things about them…People forget what they have achieved in the past. They are some of the greatest cricketers of this time. Okay, they lost, they did not play good cricket. They are getting hurt more than us. I feel that Gautam Gambhir as a coach, Ajit Agarkar as a selector, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, they are the best minds in cricket right now and they have to decide what’s the way for Indian cricket in the future.”

Rohit Sharma’s captaincy came under scrutiny ever since the Indian team lost against New Zealand in the home Test series by 3-0. Also, Rohit couldn’t win a single match he captained in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy and there were reports that he will bid adieu to the Test format following the BGT series. On the other hand, Virat Kohli needs to work up on his technique, especially as he is getting out constantly on the fourth stump line.

The Original Kaanta Laga Girl: ‘It Was My Good Fortune That The Big Hit Song Came To Me’

Ashaji recalls Kaanta laga as an upbeat folk dance number  composed by Rahul Dev Burman. “It was peppy and catchy. We were all humming the  song when shooting it. But did I think it would become such a rage in retrospect? No! Success on that level cannot be predicted by anyone. I remember the song Maar diya jaye ke chhor diya jaye in my film Mera Gaon Mera Desh. That too became such craze, although Lataji’s other  songs  in the film were also outstanding.”
