Major cricketing figures Sir Alastair Cook and Mark Nicholas together with Wasim Akram maintain leadership positions among an array of celebrated commentators and players who make up the commentary team. From May 2024 until May 18 2025 six teams will showcase matches across the four cities Karachi Lahore Multan Rawalpindi. The Lahore Gaddafi Stadium stands as the venue for the finals of this tournament.
The HBL PSL commentary box welcomes its first member Sir Alastair Cook who becomes part of the panel in his debut appearance. Sir Alastair Cook joins two other English cricketers via Mark Butcher and Dominic Cork to form a panel with the broadcasting experience of Mark Nicholas who served as former MCC President after working at SKY Sports and Channel 9.

Former New Zealand batsman Martin Guptill joins Bangladesh’s Athar Ali Khan as international experts who contribute throughout the tournament alongside Australia’s two-time World Cup champion Lisa Sthalekar. The broadcasting team of South Africa for the tournament includes former cricketer Jean-Paul Duminy together with experienced commentator Mike Haysman.
The Pakistani broadcasting panel consists of former Test captains including Aamir Sohail, Waqar Younis, Ramiz Raja and Wasim Akram alongside extensive history in television broadcasting. All commentators have proven broadcasting expertise and international recognition and Waqar and Wasim are members of both the ICC and PCB Hall of Fame. Former cricketer Bazid Khan will collaborate with ex-women’s team captain Urooj Mumtaz and cricket analyst Sikander Bakht to join Test cricketer Bazid Khan in this group.
This milestone marks the first time PSL provided Urdu live match commentary throughout a broadcast. The commentary panel dedicated to Urdu broadcast consists of Ali Younis and three other talented commentators Aqeel Samar and Marina Iqbal and Salman Butt and Tariq Saeed who will join the main team throughout special segments.
