Radhika Yadav was among India’s rising tennis player. She had achieved remarkable progress in national and international tours. She even achieved a career-high ranking of 113 in the doubles category of the International Tennis Federation (ITF) at her best. In Haryana, she was ranked fifth in the women’s doubles category. Radhika was shot dead by her father at their home in Gurugram Sector-57 on Thursday morning. Deepak Yadav who is accused fired five bullets at his daughter Radhika Yadav, four of which hit her while she was in the kitchen.
In a video posted on Instagram by Radhika Yadav’s bestfriend Himaanshika Singh, she revealed disturbing truth about Radhika’s family and what was the situation at her home.
“You must have heard a lot in the media, but let me tell you the truth about Radhika Yadav. My name is Himaanshika Singh. Radhika Yadav was my best friend. We were very close for the last 8-10 years. I just lost her. I didn’t think I would talk about this so soon, but I have no other choice.”
“I saw her body yesterday. The sole purpose of this video is to let you know who Radhika was. Radhika Yadav was an international tennis player and she was a very good friend of mine, very kind soul and very sweet.”
“She was very innocent and was pursuing tennis for the last 18 years. She loved clicking photos and making videos.”
She loved to sing and her commercial video that has been doing rounds was a normal music video she shot it 1-1.5 years ago. She even had other shoots lined up but slowly it all stopped.
“Her parents were very strict and were always under a lot of societal pressure. They were very orthodox. Me and Radhika have played a lot of matched together but she never talks to anyone. I have always seen her with her parents.”

Radhika’s best friend mentioned that she had a “lot of restrictions at her home” and she didn’t talk to anyone.
“She was suffering at home for a long time, feeling suffocated at home where she had to keep explaining everything.”
Radhika was constantly asked questions even when she was talking to Himaanshika she had to show her parents. “I remember she had to show on videocalls that I am talking to Himaanshika”
“Her academy was just 50 meters away but still he had to come home on time and she couldn’t be late.”
“As a coach she was very good and well liked by her students.”
