The former Indian cricketer and coach Sanjay Bangar pointed out at Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant’s batting. Bangar highlighted the need for Pant to bat higher for betterment for him and as well as for his team.
In a conversation with Star Sports, Bangar said “I’m a little surprised, to be honest. We were discussing why he isn’t batting at the top. He starts well against pace and can really open up against spin. Right now, he’s frustrated moving down the order,”
“He’s at his best when hitting down the ground. Once he looks to go behind square, that’s when he struggles. Hitting straight keeps him in his zone.”
Rishabh Pant’s Torrid Time
Nine matches, 106 runs, not the performance anticipated from the most expensive player in IPL history.
Rishabh Pant’s frustrations was visible when he was made to wait endlessly to bat for Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) during their IPL 2025 clash against Delhi Capitals.
Coming in at No.7 against DC and getting dismissed for a duck against his former side only added to his string of failures this season.

Rishabh Pant has played 120 IPL matches, scoring 3,390 runs with an average of 33.56. His best season was IPL 2018, where he scored 684 runs at an average of 52.61 and a strike rate exceeding 170, with a top score of 128*.
He has one century and 19 half-centuries in his IPL career. He also holds records for dismissals and catches in a match.
