It has now been widely reported that Indian fast bowler Harshit Rana is being kept in England after playing for India A, to take part in some county matches. According to a report by RevSportz, the Indian team values Rana as a backup seamer and plans to have him in England if there are changes in the squad during the tour.
Rana was chosen for the India A tour, which began on May 30 and would have seen Abhimanyu Easwaran leading the team in two unofficial Test matches, after which they would return to the country. Rana was told by the England staff to play some county games after returning from the India A tour so he can be named as a replacement if any player is injured.

Harshit Rana Removed After Border-Gavaskar Trophy
Rana performed well in the 2024 IPL, which helped him become famous and earn him a place in all three teams for India. Also, Harshit first played in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, but was not part of the India team for the five-match tour against England.
In the BGT, Harshit Rana’s performance was meager, as he could only take away four wickets in the three matches, and the right arm bowler was dropped from the squad. So far, the BCCI has not released any statement about Harshit staying in England.
