Perfect Response to Captain’s Call
The turning point of South Africa Masters’ inning emerged during the fifth over when India Masters needed their first wicket. Sachin Tendulkar’s excellent tactical move into the match by bringing Rahul Sharma to bowl allowed the leg-spinner to record three back-to-back wickets against South African batsmen.
Three Deliveries, Three Legends Dismissed
Sharma started his successful five-over spell by having Hashim Amla caught out with a perfectly floated delivery. During that brief moment South African legend attempted an aggressive pull shot while the delivery from Sharma coaxed him out of the crease to hit an overhead shot.
The spinner used his second delivery to dismiss Kallis through LBW and then eliminated Rudolph in the consecutive delivery through the same dismissal. The memorable hat-trick earned Sharma a spot in the tournament record books right after its completion.
