Following the cancellation of PBKS vs DC match, Devajit Saikia, the secretary of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) issued an official statement. Leaving 58 match of the tournament, which was held at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamsala, was cancelled as Pakistan attacked in different parts of India. Hence, for the sake of everyone, IPL’s governance council chose to cancel the match half way, Devajit Saikia said in a media statement.

“Keeping everything in mind we have decided to call off today’s match. Things are not ok as of now and that’s why we called off today’s match not just Dharamsala but from neighbouring country they’re escalating the things Players spectators and support staffs safety is our priority we will do everything what is in best interest of nations. We are monitoring the situation and Will take call accordingly,” said Saikia in a statement.
What Led To The Match Being Cancelled
The match was cancelled when one of the floodlights at the ground began malfunctioning. A few moments after that decision was made to abandon the game. It was known that the match was compelled to be called off by a power outage, and the IPL authorities were inform to evacuate the ground for security reasons.
