Portugal defeated Germany by 2-1 in UEFA Nations League semi-final and made it to the final. The two teams created some good scoring chances within the last minutes of the first half though no one managed to score. Right at the start of the second half, Florian Wirtz scored Germany’s goal after it was checked by VAR. After that, Portugal scored two goals from Francisco Conceição’s powerful shot and Cristiano Ronaldo’s neat goal which saw them take the lead. Although Germany tried to come back with a shot in extra time, with help from Diogo Costa’s many saves, Portugal still managed to win.
Here Is The List Of Match Awards From Germany Vs Protugal Match
Jersey Swap: Francisco Conceição
It was Conceição who took over for Trincão on the Portuguese national team. The forward’s quick moves and precise shot helped the Portuguese team take the lead. Making those substitutes was a good call from Roberto Martínez, helping Portugal take a lead in the game. After Conceição’s goal, it seemed certain that Portugal would score again and Ronaldo’s goal five minutes later confirmed this thought.
Der Kaiser: Felix Nmecha
Even though he didn’t go on the field until the second half, Nmecha looked better than the starting three centre-backs: Tah, Koch and Anton. He went after loose balls, did well in fast breaks and outperformed his opponents in almost every challenge. It is important to give Nmecha the chance to play from the beginning of Sunday’s match.

Fußballgott: Leon Goretzka
In the first part of the match, Goretzka constantly moved all across the field. He got a couple of chances to score, so honestly, he should have made at least one of them. Anthony finished with an accuracy of 91% in passing and he also lost around 15 pounds of blood, sweat and tears during the match. As usual, a great performance by Goretzka.
Der Bomber: Florian Wirtz
Unlike Goretzka, Wirtz was barely noticeable for most of the beginning period. Playing with double markers from Portugal, Mane was still expected to deliver a stronger impact on this big stage. Wirtz changed his attitude after hearing what Julian Nagelsmann must have said to him. His style of moving without the ball and the way he headed it in were both incredible. At the final whistle, it was obvious that he was tired, irritated and had missed the equaliser.
Meister of the Match: Joshua Kimmich
There wasn’t a star player on the pitch, yet it shows how well Kimmich can move to right back for Germany and still perform well. In the game, Saul scored eleven out of eleven in ground duels, got three yellow cards for Wirtz, made three steals and offered a true world class assist for the match.
